Late last month, Big Freedia organized an historic event in New York City, helping to break the record for most people Twerking at the same time. She got 358 people to gyrate their booties simultaneously.
So this artist knows a thing or two about the move Miley Cyrus has now made famous, only she has some news to break to fans of this singer.
"It's been around for two decades," Freedia tells The Associated Press of Twerking, shooting down the idea that Miley somehow invented it and adding that it originated in New Orleans. "It's the culture there, it's history there."
